My NCIS World

Holy Crap just learned that Criminal Minds is ending after season 15!!!!  I am not a regular viewer when its first run but occasionally when it shows up on ION or WE or whatever other channel it will be on .   That being said even though it was reported on TV Guide site I may have to wait and see because many people are currently worried or believing various headlines that Sean Murray is leaving NCIS.  I have posted a few times in response they need to read further into the articles. That there are no indications of his leaving and they are rumors they are getting from people asking questions to columns or assumptions on various message boards.  Not really sure we should be putting a lot of trust to ET show either. Mind you when Duane Henry posted about his exit from the show it was after his final episode and he couldn’t say anything until much later. I hadn't been online hardly at all today so I was quite shocked at the news this evening that Show Runner for NCIS Gary Glasberg died today.  He was 4 years younger than I am! He has been hailed and vilified at the way he had been running NCIS since taking it over from Jesse Stern.  It is all over the internet and forums (how many times are these people going to post the same things on the same sites?)  There will be a memorial service in October. He was survived by his wife Mimi and their two sons and his father.  I did post a message to most of the NCIS cast at twitter and a few fans have "liked" my tweet. Well last night was episode 14.2 and it was a mixed bag.  Clearly it was a homage to the 1980's movie the breakfast club.  They had all the elements of it.  They even had a woman who everything thought (Including me) was Alley sheedy (but it wasn't) in reprisal of her role as the weird/shy girl.  I am still not sure of Jennifer ...

With the new season of NCIS just a couple of weeks away I thought it would be nice to post one of my rare posts. If you have noticed I haven’t been posting much this past year about the show and the cast and crew or the fandom. You would have to be living under a rock not to know there has been more unrest in the fandom and some of the message boards. Ever since it was announced by David McCallum that Michael Weatherly was leaving and subsequent news reports, and news items, about the final episodes and about his new show.  It was becoming clear to many that there was some bad blood between MW and MH.  I don’t know if there was it could be hype but it upsets me at some of the countless accusations being thrown around. The second episode is starting.  I am not liking Tony in the first few moments.  I also didn’t think Michael was that impressive in the ET interview but I have a different sense of humor than others.  Michael did a couple of other interviews I will have to catch online later. Mark Harmon was on Live with Kelly and Michael today it was pretty good except for the fact that yet again the interviewers/research people just had to bring up People Magazines’ Sexiest Man alive.  When Kelly brought up she still had the cover and could look for it and Mark just smiled and told her to get a life in so many words.  They talked about tonight’s episode and his part in NOLA. I am sitting here watching the last nine minutes of ET.  I missed the segment on NOLA that follows the mothership at 9 pm.  I did catch a few interviews that Mark Harmon has  done in the last couple of days.  THere are more next week.  The last two  interviews were pretty good.  I think I missed Extra tonight. The news flew through the NCIS fandom yesterday that season 12 was a go.  Many of us had no doubts.  Others did.  Many are hoping that Emly Wickersham’s character will be gone and you know who has returned.  Should I state the obvious? Today’s double episodes were from season 7.   They are Jetlag and Masquerade..  The first episode brought a lot of criticism because the agents left their charge alone and she nearly died..   The second one we either meet or see MAllison Hart. again.  I didn’t watch all of it because it was dinner time and I went out afterwards. I am not sure if I mentioned this or not but the next big marathon is tomorrow and the theme is Lucky Ducky Marathon..  It starts around 9 or ten and that’s good because we are going to be out early tomorrow.  I am sure I will be catching some of it..

Every time I go there I end up getting aggravated by the same rhetoric.  The same shit every day.  The show has lost its chemistry (I don’t think it has), Bishop doesn’t fit in, Gibbs is this that and  the other.  (They have been saying that for like freaking 4 years).  I also get tired of reading “I don’t watch it anymore” or  the constant arguing of why watch it if you don’t like it (which I do actually agree with).  I find myself questioning the reasons for posting at message boards if you don’t watch the show anymore.  I have long since stopped watching a number of shows and I may lurk to see what the atmosphere is like or what if any are the same arguments might be that occurred when I was actively watching.  Its the dead horse beatings.  I also know that these arguments are also not solely at one message board.  It is on a number of them but they seem to handle them better than others. What have I been waiting for you ask?  For CBS to rebroadcast previous episodes of NCIS on an the weekend.  HUH? You ask?  Well   Every so often CBS will an previous episodes of NCIS on other nights.  They are usually Saturday nights and very rarely Sundays.    CBS  started this practice a few years ago and ever since then I enjoy it.  Well especially if its an episode I like or I had missed before.  They also usually do it during the summer.  They didn’t this year.  I just posted a message on IMDB.com asking if any of them remember.  Oh and the episode is from season 10. In Just ten hours is the Veterans Day Episode of NCIS.  I like it because who can not like Jack?  I expect the ratings for this to match the last two episodes as well.  They always seem to increase with DVR numbers.  Despite the clamor of CDP fans saying they are dropping.  If they drop out of the top ten then I will worry.  Many people are insistent that the ratings drop is because CDP is gone.   ATTENTION FANS:  Cote has left the building.     Many thanks to HarrietNCIS the fan liaison for keeping us posted on cast appearances and upcoming episodes.  I was able to catch the Entertainment News programs and of course the interviews.  Michael Weatherly dons a great alligator suit..  The cast also recently did an international (out of LA I guess) press tour.  Many seemed to think they looked lonely up there.  i didn’t see it but  then again I wasn’t really looking. With the latest episode only 10 hours away there has been a lot going on in the NCIS world.  Last week’s episode did well in the ratings despite the mixed reviews from the online fans.  Some felt it was beyond believable that one man can stand up to thugs.    The main point of the episode was to show how women are treated in Afghanistan.  IT didn’t hurt to have in the news the young girl that stood up to soldiers on a bus in Afghanistan being featured and interviewed every where. This week we return to Baltimore as we see a much younger Anthony DiNozzo deal with being a cop in Baltimore.  We had seen pictures earlier this fall previewing this episode.  Some were pretty funny.  TV guide did a cover story with Mark Harmon and Michael Weatherly and their respective characters relationships.  There are some really beautifully done pictures.  I wish I could get it but I am not comfortable spending extra money on it. Episode Under the RAdar aired this past week to more favorable reviews from the online groups I belong to.  However, I wasn’t thrilled with it.  THe new opening credits are cool.  The Retiring Agent Vera was obnoxious as all get out.  I guess that’s what happens when you hang out with Mike Franks.  As I think about it this was a segue into next week’s episode.  I missed Michael Weatherly’s song/video but it had been pushed everywhere by everyone. The cast has been tweeting great things.  BTS photos, personal stuff etc.  I replied to M Weatherly’s tweet of his two german shepherds.  He didn’t respond (sad face).  I had to miss his appearance or segment on OMG Insider because of the NJ Governor Debate. Some fans are still upset by the loss of CDP but others within that faction are asking for people “to move on”.  I agree.  It looks like more and more fans are becoming accepting of the end results of this hoopla...

Well Episode #2 and Ziva farewell aired this past week to mixed reviews-again.  Gee what a surprise.  I enjoyed it as always. The ratings seemed to maintain in the 20 million mark.  I am not really worried about them crashing as many are predicting. Discussions continue on the focuses of the show.  Some want the comedy to continue.  I agree as long as it blended equally with the action, drama and what ever else that makes a TV show.  I like the stand alone episodes along with the arcs.  I also like know about the personal sides (even if they don’t always make sense) more and more layers that make the characters tick. Previews and spoilers for future episodes are sprouting all over the net and various forums for the next two episodes.  They are Episode 238 “Anonymous Was a Woman” and Episode 239 “Always a Crook”.  The first one was has to do with a pet project of the Late Mike Franks and his spirit will be showing up again.  So will...

Well Season 11 has begun rather well ratings wise (overall).  IF I am to believe some of the reports and analysis from IMDB and other sources.  As always it got mixed reviews from the fans from various forums.  There were a couple of moments in my viewing that I thought was a little shaky but overall I enjoyed it Just as the season premiere was dawning news that another spinoff was spread throughout the ether.  This time it will be in the hands of Gary Glasberg and Mark Harmon.  This led to much speculation from fans.  Questions such as will it be “a real spin-off?” or “will it be good?” It also led to speculation that maybe Mark is pulling back from the role of LJ Gibbs.  It led to concerns this would adversely affect the “mother ship”.  I don’t know what to think.  I would feel bad about not seeing Mark Harmon as much in the show. The anticipation of the Season premiere of NCIS is getting heavier in this fan’s life.   Discussions continue of upcoming episodes post Ziva and what to expect for episode 250.   That will be sometime later on in the season.   What ever it is I hope it is done well and received fairly well (uh huh I know not gonna happen). Mark Harmon was a busy man last weekend.   Michigan University honored the Late Tom Harmon (Mark’s father) and his accomplishments for the University as their star Quarterback.   Mr. Harmon was at the game and celebrity commentator and made a speech.   There are number of posts and pictures in various areas of the event.   According to some there was also some rude and uncalled for comments on twitter.   I somehow got on a blog for the team and some of them reviewed his “performance” as being forced.   Okay you want to stand in front of a stadium full of people and not get overwhelmed?   Good luck on that o...

As the news broke about Cote De Pablo's decision to not continue with NCIS the maelstrom that followed was beyond bizarre and questions the mental state of fans.  On the social networking sites fans clamoured they were no longer going to watch NCIS okay that’s fine can understand that but to lose sleep over it and blame the rest of the cast and crew?  Not cool.  To start petitions to get the actress to stay?  Why?  As I posted to one twit on Twitter-good idea force someone to be on a show they don’t want to be.  I can see the resentment for the fans building on that one (I was never one for starting petitions for shows and stuff like that).  I don’t plan on doing it for Mark Harmon when it comes time for him to move on either.  I will be sad that changes happen and I hope I don’t lose sleep over it but I will get over it. Good morning every one!   Yes I am still around.   I needed to take a break from writing in the NCIS world.   I didn’t like the second half of Season 9 and I wasn’t real thrilled with the fandom as a whole.   Oh I participated on the various sites that I belonged to but and I remained respectful and all but there were things that needed to be said and I couldn’t do it then and probably shouldn’t do it now. I was able to watch parts of the NCIS marathon yesterday.   They had a few from each season.   It was part of the undercover Ops/undercover cops weekend marathon USA had.   I had gone out in the morning and was ho me at a decent hour.   I also had the opportunity to read so me updates on the fan fiction site.   Several stories had been updated in the last few days and they were pretty good.   I think one or two of them are coming to a close but I thought they were well written. The Daily NCIS block continues to be from season five.   As of this mo me nt it’s Recoil.   I had a mo me ntary feeling of slapping the character Ziva for being at the bar after turning down Tony’s invitation to have a drink.   IF there was ever a ti me to go to a therapist that would have been the ti me . I still haven’t seen this week’s episode on line yet but I will.   There is still some discussion but not as much as I was expecting.   Of course as in the past its gotten mixed reviews but more positive then negative.   It did pretty well in the ratings too from what I gather.   What is surprising me is some people are already discussing next week’s episode. In at least one venue there are several ideas that the return of an agent Dorin (he was in Sins of the Father episode) is an indicator that at least one or more of the cast is leaving or being replaced.   I would really prefer that they don’t add any more people to “the team”.   They have done it for ever from Angel and Buffy to Burn Notice and probably many others I haven’t seen.   I also haven’t seen any indication that the stars are going to leave.   It’s just been supposition and speculation on the part of the viewers and fans and posters.
