Fans are in a panic

For the last few days or so there have been panic stricken fans posting to the FB that DM announced his leaving after this season.  He literally announced it when he announced MW’s departure last year.    Some are in denial citing that everyone signed a two year deal.  That is true but I don’t recall it including that of DMC2.  The current articles are all from Europe and Australia.  None from the US such as Variety and the others we tend to listen or believe most times.  I guess It will have to wait for the “official word”. Tonight is the “Philadelphia”episode.  We see the return of MI6 Clayton.  It will be very interesting to see if he will be in the bullpen by the end of the episode or will be showing up from time to time like Fornell.  Some are questioning the spacial problems this is presenting for them.   The ratings seem to be very steady for Season 14 so far.  If I understand it correctly NCIS came in 4th pl...

RIP Gary Glasberg

I hadn't been online hardly at all today so I was quite shocked at the news this evening that Show Runner for NCIS Gary Glasberg died today.  He was 4 years younger than I am! He has been hailed and vilified at the way he had been running NCIS since taking it over from Jesse Stern.  It is all over the internet and forums (how many times are these people going to post the same things on the same sites?)  There will be a memorial service in October. He was survived by his wife Mimi and their two sons and his father.  I did post a message to most of the NCIS cast at twitter and a few fans have "liked" my tweet. Well last night was episode 14.2 and it was a mixed bag.  Clearly it was a homage to the 1980's movie the breakfast club.  They had all the elements of it.  They even had a woman who everything thought (Including me) was Alley sheedy (but it wasn't) in reprisal of her role as the weird/shy girl.  I am still not sure of Jennifer ...

NCIS renewed for season 13

There isn't much on TV tonight and some of the marathon’s on WE and Sundance I have seen already.  I couldn’t believe the news I heard today though American Idol has been cancelled for the 2015-2016 season.  I heard a partial report and didn’t know if they were talking about this season but then I got online and saw an article that says Ryan Seacrest speaks out on it.  On one hand I didn’t watch it and never liked it.  I try not to watch those types of shows because they can be relentless and cruel. I was relieved to read that NCIS has been renewed for the 13th season.  Still no word on whether or not MH has signed on as cast member or crew member.  It has many people a little worried but at the same time some are saying he wouldn’t not sign on.  I have a feeling he will have reduced screen time and concentrate on being producer and director.  He as much as said so on different occasions.  As to whether or not season 13 will be the final...

Season 12 starts in 9 minutes

I am sitting here watching the last nine minutes of ET.  I missed the segment on NOLA that follows the mothership at 9 pm.  I did catch a few interviews that Mark Harmon has  done in the last couple of days.  THere are more next week.  The last two  interviews were pretty good.  I think I missed Extra tonight. Even though I didn’t write much for NCIS and its fandom this summer I have been actively posting at various sites.  The forums and messages were discussion the upcoming season, the postseason discussions were very positive despite the fact that some circles continued to inflame the whole Ziva/Cote De Pablo debacle.   Fans shared their close encounters of the stars when they went to OK for the annual Mark Harmon Celebrity Weekend, and one on ones with the cast. okay here its...Opens in Moscow Russia.  Wow this is great...new opening credits (will have to check them out later tonight).. The men of NCIS are live tweeti...

NCIS was renewed for Season 12

The news flew through the NCIS fandom yesterday that season 12 was a go.  Many of us had no doubts.  Others did.  Many are hoping that Emly Wickersham’s character will be gone and you know who has returned.  Should I state the obvious? Today’s double episodes were from season 7.   They are Jetlag and Masquerade..  The first episode brought a lot of criticism because the agents left their charge alone and she nearly died..   The second one we either meet or see MAllison Hart. again.  I didn’t watch all of it because it was dinner time and I went out afterwards. I am not sure if I mentioned this or not but the next big marathon is tomorrow and the theme is Lucky Ducky Marathon..  It starts around 9 or ten and that’s good because we are going to be out early tomorrow.  I am sure I will be catching some of it..

I Think I opened up a can of worms.

This  morning I replied to this episode discussion from the past week  It was my second reply to it this week.  Nicki5of7 and I were discussing Pauley’s interview and her character’s behavior in the episode towards the Internal Affairs guy.  Nicki loves Pauley while clearly I am no longer in enamoured with her.   Actually I don’t think I ever was. Pauley didn’t really touch on the anniversary episode very well.  Her character’s behavior on the show leaves a lot to be desired.   I feel that the cast and crew especially Pauley need to start speaking up about things that no longer work for the character.   If they don’t they (actually my feeling is she will) be typecast for the rest of their career.   This is the 21st century and I don’t believe HOllywood would blackball an actor or anyone if they spoke up about changes for their character or what ever.   I also take exception to PP’s behavior on twitter.  The fo...

NCIS spinoff Cast announcements

I have been getting alerts all day today announcing the new cast for the NCIS spin-off.   Scott Bakula (Quantum Leap, Star Trek: Enterprise) has been cast as the Leader of the new team located in New Orleans.  Second person to be announced was  Zoe McLellan who also appeared on JAG has been cast as Agent Brody from the Midwest.  They are still looking to fill the rest of the cast up.  I bet Mark Harmon is excited and thrilled.  It hasn’t been announced on any of the entertainment news programs yet.  They are focusing on the Superbowl and the drug overdose of   Philip Seymour Hoffman on Sunday. I tried to stay up for Once a Crook episode of NCIS last night but I wasn’t doing well.  I was tired and not feeling well.  I also found both the characters Abby and Tony to be extremely obnoxious and annoying.  A point I made on a couple of boards.  I checked my October and November entries and can’t tell if I watched it or not. ...

Response to Elle Bishop

The response to newest member NSA liaison Ellie Bishop was mostly favorable in the circles I am in. Of course it met with mixed on Facebook.  Happily there are more and more people saying get over it.  I swear some people are five year olds.  As I expected the person I mentioned about getting banned from LON was officially banned until the first of the year.  If she does again then she is permanently banned.  I did enjoy it and several times Kate Todd was referenced.  I do have to say MS Emily does remind me of Hudson Leick (Callisto in the Herkdom) she also reminds me of Tracy Pollan.   The next episode is in two weeks I believe.  I believe that one has Diane Gibbs Fornell whom ever she married before (and is apparently now history) and Fornell’s Daughter Emily we met in Season 4.2 “Escaped” episode and she is beautiful 14 year old red-head.  I know of only one person so far who does not want to see this one (among all t...

Tonight we meet Ellie Bishop

In about 13 hours 20 minutes we will be introduced to Ellie Bishop played by Soprano’s alum Emily  Wickersham.  Do I have to tell you the rabid fans are not even liking her already based on the promos that came out?  Happily for everyone who sounds like a freaking 4 year old (and I even had to ask someone on the Facebook page for the show how old they were) there was a sane person saying “move on”. These people invade every freaking thread with “Ziva is the holy grail of characters”.  As it is there was one poster both on the NCIS fan wiki and the Land of NCIS who keeps insisting that the show is not the same and the show is going down hill has already been banned from the sites.  I know for sure she was banned from one and is dangerously close to getting thrown off LON. It needs to stop.  First of all you ever hear of “dead horse”?  It ain’t getting up and it is heading for the glue factory.  This also goes for anyone who doesn’t like the sh...

In the NCIS World

With the latest episode only 10 hours away there has been a lot going on in the NCIS world.  Last week’s episode did well in the ratings despite the mixed reviews from the online fans.  Some felt it was beyond believable that one man can stand up to thugs.    The main point of the episode was to show how women are treated in Afghanistan.  IT didn’t hurt to have in the news the young girl that stood up to soldiers on a bus in Afghanistan being featured and interviewed every where. This week we return to Baltimore as we see a much younger Anthony DiNozzo deal with being a cop in Baltimore.  We had seen pictures earlier this fall previewing this episode.  Some were pretty funny.  TV guide did a cover story with Mark Harmon and Michael Weatherly and their respective characters relationships.  There are some really beautifully done pictures.  I wish I could get it but I am not comfortable spending extra money on it. Ha...

This Week in NCIS World

Episode Under the RAdar aired this past week to more favorable reviews from the online groups I belong to.  However, I wasn’t thrilled with it.  THe new opening credits are cool.  The Retiring Agent Vera was obnoxious as all get out.  I guess that’s what happens when you hang out with Mike Franks.  As I think about it this was a segue into next week’s episode.  I missed Michael Weatherly’s song/video but it had been pushed everywhere by everyone. The cast has been tweeting great things.  BTS photos, personal stuff etc.  I replied to M Weatherly’s tweet of his two german shepherds.  He didn’t respond (sad face).  I had to miss his appearance or segment on OMG Insider because of the NJ Governor Debate. Some fans are still upset by the loss of CDP but others within that faction are asking for people “to move on”.  I agree.  It looks like more and more fans are becoming accepting of the end results of this hoopla...

This Week in NCIS World

Well Episode #2 and Ziva farewell aired this past week to mixed reviews-again.  Gee what a surprise.  I enjoyed it as always. The ratings seemed to maintain in the 20 million mark.  I am not really worried about them crashing as many are predicting. Discussions continue on the focuses of the show.  Some want the comedy to continue.  I agree as long as it blended equally with the action, drama and what ever else that makes a TV show.  I like the stand alone episodes along with the arcs.  I also like know about the personal sides (even if they don’t always make sense) more and more layers that make the characters tick. Previews and spoilers for future episodes are sprouting all over the net and various forums for the next two episodes.  They are Episode 238 “Anonymous Was a Woman” and Episode 239 “Always a Crook”.  The first one was has to do with a pet project of the Late Mike Franks and his spirit will be showing up again.  So will...

This Week in the NCIS World

Well Season 11 has begun rather well ratings wise (overall).  IF I am to believe some of the reports and analysis from IMDB and other sources.  As always it got mixed reviews from the fans from various forums.  There were a couple of moments in my viewing that I thought was a little shaky but overall I enjoyed it Just as the season premiere was dawning news that another spinoff was spread throughout the ether.  This time it will be in the hands of Gary Glasberg and Mark Harmon.  This led to much speculation from fans.  Questions such as will it be “a real spin-off?” or “will it be good?” It also led to speculation that maybe Mark is pulling back from the role of LJ Gibbs.  It led to concerns this would adversely affect the “mother ship”.  I don’t know what to think.  I would feel bad about not seeing Mark Harmon as much in the show. Oh and of course this is the week that trolls came out of their hiding places.  I have...

This Week in the NCIS World

The anticipation of the Season premiere of NCIS is getting heavier in this fan’s life.   Discussions continue of upcoming episodes post Ziva and what to expect for episode 250.   That will be sometime later on in the season.   What ever it is I hope it is done well and received fairly well (uh huh I know not gonna happen). Mark Harmon was a busy man last weekend.   Michigan University honored the Late Tom Harmon (Mark’s father) and his accomplishments for the University as their star Quarterback.   Mr. Harmon was at the game and celebrity commentator and made a speech.   There are number of posts and pictures in various areas of the event.   According to some there was also some rude and uncalled for comments on twitter.   I somehow got on a blog for the team and some of them reviewed his “performance” as being forced.   Okay you want to stand in front of a stadium full of people and not get overwhelmed?   Good luck on that o...

This Week in NCIS World

Well hello my friends how are you doing?  I wasn’t overly impressed with this week’s episode but I was surprised by its ending.  Of course the reviews from various arenas are the same.  Some liked it some didn’t. Shortly after this episode aired Michael Weatherly was interviewed by a blog site and he posted to his twitter feed and he gave his views rather forcefully (dropped the F-Bomb a couple of times.  Some were disappointed in his choice of words others were fine with it.  Some criticized others for posting their disapproval.  That’s their right.  I wrote my views on this thread . However, by the end of this weekend after hearing “he is expressing his opinion and” and basically being dismissed for our own views I responded   here .   I did offer some support to Michael Weatherly on his twitter page.  Whether or not he sees or cares about it is totally different. Basically I wrote that celebrities should not b...

This Week in NCIS World

Image
Wow last week’s episode sparked off controversy.   Many fans and viewers (at least on line) were angry and disgusted with the episode and how SFA DiNozzo was written.   I wasn’t blown away by the episode myself but I enjoyed other parts.   The remaining episodes have many denouncing the show and the writers.   Some are claiming not to return as viewers and have said it has jumped the shark now that it has been announced that Muse Watson’s character Mike Franks is returning.   The whole “if you don’t like don’t watch debate continues.   Unfortunately I happen to agree with the “don’t like don’t watch” faction.   I don’t care if you liked it once and want it to return to your specifications.   If the cast likes what is happening then why would you want to make them unhappy-again? AT the same time I do wonder if the cast and crew really do listen and realize that the path they chose to take could make their show a laughing stock.   ...

my thoughts

I was able to watch parts of the NCIS marathon yesterday.   They had a few from each season.   It was part of the undercover Ops/undercover cops weekend marathon USA had.   I had gone out in the morning and was ho me at a decent hour.   I also had the opportunity to read so me updates on the fan fiction site.   Several stories had been updated in the last few days and they were pretty good.   I think one or two of them are coming to a close but I thought they were well written. The Daily NCIS block continues to be from season five.   As of this mo me nt it’s Recoil.   I had a mo me ntary feeling of slapping the character Ziva for being at the bar after turning down Tony’s invitation to have a drink.   IF there was ever a ti me to go to a therapist that would have been the ti me . I have to say there is a discussion on almost every forum I visit about how the fans and posters want the show done their way and they are going to ...
